Practical InformationLodgingThe scientific organizers offer you the choice to either find and book your own accomodation for your visit or to ask the PSI2-board to book you an hotel closeby the venue. Residhome à Bures offers very convenient spacious studios for our guests, including a private and fully equipped kitchen. In the evening the hotel offers catering service. In the weekend there is a shuttle that brings guest to train station Le Guichet with a direct connection to Paris downtown. Additionally, there are two hotels in Paris that we work with. These are Solar hotel and Hotel du Lion, both located close to one of the stations of RER B - Denfert Rochereau. Solar hotel is the first green budget-hotel, economic and activist in the center of Paris, located within a 5 minutes walk from the RER B station. It was completely renovated in 2014 and offers organic breakfast and free bicycles for guests. Hotel du Lion is situated in a genuinely Parisian area with quality local shops and cafés. With the great transport links available right outside the hotel you will have direct access to RER B and all major attractions in Paris. How to get to IPhT ?The venue can be reached through the RER B, one of the lines of the Paris area local train system (RER - Réseau Express Régional) and the bus. Coming from Paris there are two options to reach IPhT. The simplest is to take a train (you can check the timetable here) that terminates at Saint-Rémy-les-Chevreuse or Orsay ville and get off at Le Guichet. Take Exit 2 (Sortie 2) and go to the right. After the café turn again right and cross the street. A pedestrian sidewalk on the left leads to the bus station. Take a bus 9 (timetable here) and get off at Orme des Merisiers stop. This bus is free with a weekly or monthly pass "Navigo”; otherwise, tickets can be purchased on the bus; you can use also subway tickets for Paris (ticket t). The second option is to take the train RER-B to Massy-Palaiseau and take bus 91.06B, 91.06C or 91.10 (timetable for all three of them is here) which reach Orme des Merisiers in 20-25 minutes. Buses are more frequent at rush hours but they are also more crowded, and there are many buses lines in Massy so finding the right bus stop may not be easy the first time. Once you are at Orme des Merisiers stop, there is a gate for pedestrian access right in front of the bus stop, but if you don't know the way, you should rather use the main entrance, which you don't see from the bus stop: it is located 150m ahead. Once you enter the site, go straight at the fork, not right (this is the entrance to the Soleil synchrotron). IPhT is building 774 at the end of the road on the right side (see map below). |
